Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to register my child or baby?

If your child or baby will remain in a stroller for the entire race and will not participate, you do not need to register them.

However, if your child will walk or run any portion of the race, they must be registered. Anyone on foot on the race course is considered a participant and must be registered for safety, liability, and insurance purposes.

Your child also needs to be registered if they want to participate in the full race experience, including:

  • Running or walking any part of the race
  • Crossing the finish line as a participant
  • Receiving a finisher medal
  • Participating in race-specific activities or treats, such as pumpkin pie or apple cider
  • Receiving any other participant items or benefits included with registration

Stroller exception: Babies and young children who remain in their stroller for the entire race may ride along with a registered parent or guardian without being registered. If they get out of the stroller and walk or run on the course at any point, they must be registered.

Simple rule: If their feet are on the course, they need to be registered.

Can I walk the race?

Yes! Walkers are welcome at Run Celina events. You can walk, run, or use any combination of the two. We want everyone to participate at a pace that is comfortable for them.

The only exception is the 10K at the Celina Turkey Trot. Because of our City permit requirements, FM 428 must reopen within one hour. For that reason, 10K participants must maintain approximately a 12:00-minute-per-mile pace through Mile 5, which ensures they are across FM 428 before the roadway reopens.

After Mile 5, participants may continue at whatever pace is comfortable.

For all other Run Celina races, walkers are welcome unless otherwise noted on the specific event page.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Dogs are welcome at Run Celina events unless otherwise noted for a specific race.

Dogs must remain on a leash at all times. For the safety of all participants, runners and walkers with dogs should line up toward the back of the starting area to help prevent tripping, tangling, or interfering with other participants at the start.

Please keep your dog under control throughout the event and be considerate of other runners, walkers, children, and dogs on the course.

Can my child ride a bike, scooter, e-bike, or skateboard?

No. Bikes, scooters, e-bikes, skateboards, and similar wheeled devices are not permitted on the race course.

These items create a significant safety hazard for runners and walkers and can cause collisions, falls, or injuries—especially in crowded areas near the start and finish.

They also provide an unfair advantage and are not permitted as a means of completing the race.

If your child wants to participate in the race, they must do so on foot and be properly registered.
